Lumos is derived from the Latin word lumen, meaning light, which created the perfect opportunity for typographic play with the “O” in this logo. The advisors at Lumos wanted to appeal to a slightly younger, less stuffy demographic so we created a brand that feels fresh and light. A new color palette that felt warm, inviting and playful helps them stand out among all the blues and grays of the financial world. Keeping the logo clean and conceptual gives the brand credibility and creates a trustworthy and memorable first impression. We created a style guide and series of illustrations to be used on social media, often using the “O” as an element in the illustrations creating a cohesive branding experience across all platforms.
